How’d we do it? The Slayer Calls team started with the award-winning Drake Slayer Double Reed and opened up the exhaust, lengthened the tone board, and took out some of the rises. These design changes let hunters put as much air as they want into the call.

I have been hunting waterfowl for over 25 years and have owned more than 10 ducks calls. I have purchased cheap and expensive calls hoping for a call that would perform in the worst conditions of Utah weather. None of them have performed to my expectations. I researched slayer calls and read only positive reviews. I was willing to give it a try. The pricing for the Ranger was more expensive than a typical call found in the store but well worth the price. No cracking, sticking, or freezing at all. After two hunts I was convinced and so were my sons and brother. They have all purchased a slayer call since my first purchase and they have no complaints. I highly recommend their calls. Got this as a graduation gift for a friend. It arrived well packaged with a helpful video on how best to call. It was beautiful designed and 3 folks at the graduation party got to try it out. Fantastic sounding and looking calls! I own every variation from the Drake Slayer to the Ranger to the Pearly Gates and rotate my lanyard based on the conditions and volume needed. The quality is top notch and all are very easy to blow.! The Ranger is great for open water when extra volume is needed to reach the birds, however, the call is very versatile and still get low enough to finish ducks up close.

Being someone who constantly hunts open water this is my go to call. It can get way up there but also finish ducks when you need to. I also own a Drake slayer that I will usually pull out to finish birds. If you are someone that hunts birds you can see along way I wouldn’t look any further than the ranger. Love the sound, easy to reach varying tones from highball to low pitch feeding calls. I wanted a call that made soft, finishing tones and this one does it. There are so many calls on the market that “look” good but don’t have the tonal quality that allows for depth of range and control over varying hunting scenarios. We hunted over large bays that required louder presentations and also small inlets and flooded tributaries where softer calling was necessary. This call was so easy to blow form the start allowing for great control, easy manipulation of tones, and finally gave us the low tones we needed for the drake mallards. The hail calls are crisp, sharp and have strong finishes leaving me feeling like I’m still in control and not literally sending a last ditch “Hail Mary” at the birds. We saw some great reactions from the birds which provided for some amazing shot opportunities and most importantly memories with my boys that will never be forgotten!

I am new to duck calling and came across this call after extensive research online. I was skeptical at first but thought if a company pairs instructional videos (Call the Wild) with their calls, they have to be good. I can honestly say this call was phenomenal over the last two weekends for me as it never seized despite how much air I put through it and had a great sound quality. I’m actually super impressed with not only the sound of this call but how comfortable it is to blow. Excellent quality call and couldn’t have shipped any faster. I’m going to order a wooden one as well and an acrylic ranger for my son. I own several calls and this one has earned the go to spot on my lanyard for now. Only thing I’d ask for is different solid color acrylics as well. I do like this green marsh but it’s a bit flashy for my taste. Thanks for such a great product and definitely will buy more .
