Musselshell Elk Reed, Clearwater Series
Choose options
Like the rest of the Clearwater series, the Musselshell Elk Reed is rooted in the backcountry of Idaho.
Named after the Musselshell area—where Lewis and Clark first crossed into what is now Idaho—the reed pays tribute to a rugged stretch of land nestled between the North Fork and the Selway. It’s a place steeped in exploration, challenge and wild terrain—just like the bugles you’ll throw with this call.
The Clearwater Musselshell is the most requested reed that didn’t make the original lineup. So we built it. Using light .003” latex and a heavier stretch, this diaphragm holds up under pressure while giving callers a higher pitch with better control. Set back ½” in the frame, it delivers clear, far-traveling sounds—whether you're mimicking high-pitched bugles or ringing out calf and cow calls through steep, timbered drainages.
Expect a versatile, high-pitched call designed to travel farther and cut through wind and distance.
The Musselshell Elk Reed is a medium-pressure call with balanced air and tongue pressure—ideal for hunters who want to reach elk that haven’t come in close...yet.
