Returns
Slayer Calls Return & Exchange Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your gear. If you're not, here's how we can help:
Returns & Exchanges
You may return or exchange non-customized calls and gear within 21 days of your purchase date. Items must be clean, unused, and in original condition.
Please note:
- Used turkey mouth calls, elk reeds, and customized waterfowl calls are not eligible for return.
- Limited edition calls are also non-returnable.
A Note About Reeds
Reeds naturally wear out with use—most last 2 to 4 weeks, depending on how often and how intensely they’re used. Heat, overuse, and excessive pressure can shorten their lifespan.
To keep your reeds in the best shape, store them in a cool, dry place. This includes protecting the reed inside the Enchantress call. We always recommend having backup reeds on hand.

We'll get back to you with return instructions.
Once we receive and inspect your item, we’ll either:
- Issue a refund, or

Customers are responsible for return and exchange shipping costs. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
About Slayer Calls
Since our founding in 2018, Slayer Calls’ mission has been to share our obsession with the sport of hunting.
Our goals include supporting new hunters with educational resources, showing long-time hunters some new tricks and creating a community for all of those obsessed with the hunt.
To further our mission, we donate 10% of every sale to organizations that support conservation efforts and the preservation of hunting for generations to come.
Slayer was founded by a lifelong hunter on the idea that no one should ever again pay for another low-quality call — and that philosophy hasn’t changed as we’ve expanded our range of calls.
Our team is just as obsessed with hunting elk, ducks, geese and turkeys as you are, and we’re staking our reputation on creating the highest quality calls money can buy. And we make them right here in the U.S. of A. We’re confident that our hunting calls sound better, last longer and are easier to use than others on the market.
But you don’t have to take our word for it. Just ask the hordes of happy hunters who’ve left us 5-star reviews. Ask our Slayer PRO Staff, who swear by their Slayer calls. Ask world elk calling champion Cody McCarthy, who joined the Slayer team. Or ask Field & Stream, which crowned the Ranger as the best double-reed duck call of 2023 with the Drake Slayer as the go-to duck call in 2022.
Slayer gives 10% from each purchase to organizations that protect the environment and wildlife, support conservation efforts and preserve America’s hunting heritage.
Not to brag, but we’ve been getting some serious kudos lately. Well, OK, we are going to brag. It’s kind of a big deal!

Best for complex calling
If your goal is to become a proficient duck caller or do more complex calling, our team recommends the Ranger Double Reed. Recognized by Field & Stream as the BEST double reed duck call in 2023, the Ranger can take more air and, because of this, is more forgiving (it won’t squeak on you). While the open bore design of the Ranger allows more air, it also requires you to manage your diaphragm. So if you like to hammer on your calls, this is the call for you. The best part? When you master the double reed and are looking for a new challenge, you can simply purchase a new single reed insert for your Ranger, versus buying a whole new call!
Best all-around
The Drake Slayer, Double Reed is our best all-around duck call. Recognized by Field & Stream as 2022’s best double-reed duck call, the Drake Slayer is a finishing call that offers softer, more subtle tones. Like the Ranger, the Drake Slayer is a great call to learn on — perfect for complex calling and 100% acrylic, so getting loud isn’t going to be a problem. What makes the Drake Slayer different from the Ranger? The Drake Slayer does not require a ton of air — super easy to run. Oh! And when you master the double reed and are looking for a new challenge, you can simply purchase a new single reed insert for your Drake Slayer, versus buying a whole new call!
For those late season hunts
Our Suzie Slayer is a variation of the Drake Slayer double reed, with one key difference — this call is crafted from Bocote wood rather than acrylic. The wood design produces softer tones with more depth, allowing you to work wary, shy ducks.
More than hens
Whistler’s Mother, Slayer’s 4-in-1 whistle, is a must have for every lanyard — great for calling in drake mallards, pintails, wigeons and teals. The 4-in-1 is easy to use and gets LOUD!
Best for beginners
If you’re not quite ready to invest in a lifetime call, the Mallard Reaper is a great option. Made from DELRIN plastic, this call has great top-to-bottom tone. Plus it’s affordable and super durable.
Top pick for meat calls
Our DUBAR call is a pure hunting call; if you’re looking to kill ducks, it doesn’t get any easier than this. Designed to mimic the anatomy of a duck’s mouth, this call is about as ducky and raspy as it gets. You’re not going to win any calling competitions with this call, but if you want to sound ducky out of the gates, DUBAR will have you ducked up beyond all recognition.
Best for timber hunts
If you’re hunting timber, your call of choice really depends on how much air you like to use and your hunting experience. If you’re new to duck hunting or struggle to produce enough air to run long cadences, our Drake Slayer is going to be the best call for hunting in the timber.
If you love running long cadences or find yourself squealing your call, you’re going to want to grab Slayer’s DUBAR, available in Single Reed or Double Reed. The open bore design of this call allows more air to flow through without that unwanted squeal.
Best for open water hunts
You’re going to be able to get super LOUD with Slayer’s Ranger duck call — a hunter’s dream when on the open water. Recognized by Field & Stream as the BEST double reed duck call in 2023, Slayer’s Ranger can take more air and, because of this, is more forgiving (it won’t squeak on you) so you can get the loud notes you’re looking for. The best part? When you master the double reed and are looking for a new challenge, you can simply purchase a new single reed insert for your Ranger, versus buying a whole new call!
Best single reed
If you’re looking for a single reed call, you’ve mastered the ins and outs of calling with a double reed. The choice is simple — the Ranger Single Reed. This call is 100% acrylic which means you’ll have no problem getting loud! And, with the open bore design of the Ranger, you’re set to hammer away.
The must-have cutdown
When you’re hunting high-pressure areas or public land, Slayer’s Pearly Gates cutdown might be your call of choice. This call is flat-out LOUD when you’re in the timber, with a range second to none. From high-pitched barks to quiet, subtle duck sounds, Pearly Gates has your back.

Every Slayer goose call performs like it’s 10 years broken in — guts matter! We tune our goose calls on the light-medium side. We’ll take care of the rest!
Best all-around Honker call
Our 100% acrylic Honker Slayer is perfect for your Canada geese hunts. This American-made short-reed call has the perfect back pressure, so it really can do it all: deep clucks, slow and fast double clucks, realistic moans, murmurs and honks. Take advantage of the full volume range to adjust the loudness of your call, whether geese are nearby or nearly out of range. It’s easily tunable for soft, medium or hard calling.
Simple & sexy
Looking for something a bit sexier? The Leg Iron is a variation of our most popular goose call — the Honker Slayer. Whether you’re a beginner or a hunting veteran, you’ll love this Canada goose call. This flat gray, short-reed goose call features a custom barrel etched with Slayer’s signature waterfowl design. The Leg Iron goose call is sexy and gets the job done.
For those deeper tones
Beautifully crafted from Bocote wood, the Axe is a variation of our most popular goose call — the Honker Slayer (same dependable guts). Its gorgeous wood design makes for deeper tones that may not be as loud as some other calls, but work beautifully out on the water, bringing birds close. Like the Honker Slayer, the Axe wood goose call is easily tunable for soft, medium or hard calling. The best part — guts that perform like they’re 10 years broken in!
Best goose call for beginners
Slayer’s Dagger goose call is a beginner goose call, crafted from durable DELRIN plastic. The material keeps the cost low, without compromising quality. Complete with high performing guts, there’s no better call to learn on. Don’t forget to sign up for our goose calling course — the trainer, Tommy Sessions, will have you luring in the geese in record time.
For the specklebelly geese
With the Tar Belly Slayer speck call, you don’t need to worry about putting your hands in an exact position to create back pressure. Rather, the toneboard and barrel have been designed so that only minimal air pressure is required to turn over the reed. The result is incredible versatility: soft, realistic clucks and murmurs, as well as loud hail-call yodels.

Well THAT’S what we like to hear! Congrats on the bull down. Please email your pictures to info@slayercalls.com. Also, if it’s okay for us to share, please provide your permission for us to do so. We’d love to tag you in our post, so make sure you include your social media profiles!
It’s easy and fast to change out the reed in the Enchantress. Simply pull the cow call apart, exposing the reed. Remove the reed and set a new reed in its place. Please DONOT remove the screws on the Enchantress. Here’s a quick video on how to replace the reed.
You can purchase replacement reeds for your Enchantress cow call on our website.
Under normal circumstances, our reeds can last between two to three weeks. However, factors such as frequency of use, amount of air pressure, and heat can reduce their longevity. It’s important to have backup reeds on hand and be prepared to replace them when required.
It’s always best to be prepared for the unexpected. Don’t get caught without a backup reed while out in the elk woods. Our recommendation is to carry at least two (2) extra reeds for quick and easy access during your hunt.
If your call stops working correctly, check the reed. Ensure the reed is clear of debris. Also, check the reed for any tears or holes. Once the reed is clear of debris, set properly and in good condition (no holes or tears), place the cover back on your call and let it rip. If this doesn’t work, try replacing the reed.
The Enchantress call is extremely sensitive to heat, particularly its reed. Avoid leaving it inside your vehicle on a hot day or cleaning it with chemicals, as this can weaken the call’s structure. To maintain the integrity of your call, keep it away from direct sunlight. If you need to clean it, do so carefully with a damp cloth, using water only. You can also rinse the reed with water, but again, avoid using any other liquids.
Your Enchantress should be stored in a cool, dark and dry place during the off season.
Need to clean your cow call? No problem! Just swipe it clean with a damp cloth, but be sure to use only water. Using chemicals could harm the call’s performance. And don’t forget to give the reed inside the Enchantress a quick rinse using water only.
The Enchantress ONLY connects to the Slayer Swagger tube.
Do not worry – this is normal. We designed the Enchantress to spin on the bugle tube for easy access to the button.
To produce the resounding calls of the biggest bulls, you are going to need Slayer Calls’ Swagger Bugle Tube. In this video, we’ll guide you through the process of connecting the bugle tube to the Enchantress for enhanced amplification. Please note that unscrewing the nut is required to attach the tube to the Enchantress. Once attached, the nut should then be securely tightened.
Currently, the Enchantress ONLY connects to the Slayer Swagger tube. We are working on a new design for the 2024 season so please check back with us
To achieve the desired low tone when using the Enchantress Cow Call, you need to use voice inflection – think of humming or growling into the call. Simply blowing air into the call won’t produce the desired sound. Be careful not to apply too much pressure on the button as it can cause the Enchantress to make higher pitched sounds. For more information on how to effectively use the Enchantress Cow Call, check out these six free instructional videos.
No need to worry, this is completely normal. Your call is functioning properly. When assembled correctly, the tongue will secure the reed in place.
If the reed falls out with the cover in place, something is notworking correctly. Please give us a call at 888-314-0805.
Unfortunately, no. While the Enchantress is a powerful call with its own unique sound, we’ve yet to find a hunter who can chuckle with the Enchantress. If you have figured it out – we need to talk!
The support of the hunting community has been humbling. We’re incredibly thankful. Customer satisfaction, delivering high-quality products and making our calls here at home, in the USA, is top priority for us. For 2024,we strongly encourage you to order early and make sure you have backup Enchantress reeds well in advance of your hunt
It sounds like you were an early adopter and supporter of Slayer – thank you! Please give us a call at 888-314-0805.
Well, that’s not ideal! Please give us a call at 888-314-0805. We’re happy to help.
We get it. If you’re not a fan of its shiny finish, simply cover the Enchantress with camo duck tape. Eureka!

How to Choose a Duck Call
If your goal is to become a proficient duck caller or do more complex calling, our team recommends the Ranger Double Reed. Recognized byField & Streamas the BEST double reed duck call in 2023, the Ranger can take more air and, because of this, is more forgiving (it won’t squeak on you).
Are you trying to decide between a single reed and a double reed? If you’re new to duck calling, we recommend you start out with a double reed. Having two reeds helps you control the air flowing into the call and is more forgiving. The reed on top acts as a helper; keeping the bottom reed from going too high. The best part is that this means you can be less precise in your calling and still sound like a duck. In addition to helping control airflow, the two reeds in a double reed vibrate together making more realistic quack sounds.
A single reed, on the other hand, is more of a performance call and has a wider range of capabilities. Less forgiving of a call, if not operated correctly, a single reed can get out of control quickly. When you master the double reed and are looking for a new challenge, you can simply purchase a new single reed insert for your call, versus buying a whole new call! Check out our replacement inserts here.
While you’re at it, get a jump start on using your new call by signing up for our Learn to Use Your Call video series.

How to clean and maintain your duck call
We’ve all been there. You see the flock of birds, and you’re ready to give them a blast to draw them in. You pull out your call, but something is wrong. The call isn’t working as it should … or not at all.
Where’s that superior high-end tone or soft, subtle sound you normally get? You depend on your duck call to produce the right sounds at those opportune moments. For that, you need a clean duck call.
We’re obsessive about keeping our guns clean, up-keeping our boats and maintaining other hunting gear, but duck calls can easily be forgotten. When was the last time you cleaned and cared for your calls?
Duck calls will collect all kinds of gook. Dirt, sticky residue from drinks, grease and food particles, and even pocket lint. Any type of debris can make the reeds stick or alter the sound of the duck call. The buildup prohibits the reed from working properly in conjunction with the soundboard, which can hamper performance by preventing the reeds from oscillating as they should.
The reeds must be free of any debris to vibrate properly and produce those crisp, authentic duck sounds. Regular care and maintenance of your duck call goes a long way toward maintaining peak performance.

How often you should clean your duck call depends on how much use it gets. After a string of hunts, don’t just hang your calls in the garage until the next hunt. For habitual hunters, you may need to clean your call a few times during hunting season.
Normally, you should clean your duck call twice a year during the off-season, typically before the start of hunting season and at the end, to keep it well-maintained. Cleaning and periodic tune-ups will keep your call sounding as crisp as the day you bought it and retain its tone and clarity.
Looking for something to do while anxiously waiting for hunting season to start? This is the perfect time to clean and care for your duck calls!

You’ll want to deep clean your duck call before duck season starts and again at the end of the hunting season.Follow these 6 steps:
- When you take the call apart, make sure that you mark the placement of all the parts, so that you know exactly how to fit the pieces back together. You can use a fine-tip Sharpie to place a mark where the reed sits.
- After you’ve marked your call and taken it apart, and soak it in soap and warm water.
- Rinse the call completely with lukewarm water.
- Towel off the parts, then set them out to air dry completely.
- This is a good time to inspect the parts to see if any may need repair, such as a cracked cork or cracked or worn reeds.
- Reassemble your call before storing it. Use your Sharpie mark to make sure the reed is placed back exactly where it was before. The relationship between the reed and the tone board determines the quality of the sound.

You don’t always need a full deep clean to get your call back in shape. These tips will help you maintain your call no matter where you are or what type of call you have.
- In the field: To clean out dirt or debris that’s making the reeds stick or lock up, keep some dental floss or a crisp dollar bill with you in the field. We don’t recommend that you do this more than necessary as you can drop and lose parts in the field. Carefully pull apart your call by holding the exhaust with the reed in your hand. Slide a dollar bill or dental floss between the barrel and the reed. Draw it through to remove any debris.
- For quick cleaning: Separate the insert from the barrel. Rinse your call with lukewarm water — you don’t want the water to be too hot. Towel them both off, then leave them out to air dry. Reassemble after they’re completely dry.
- For acrylic calls: Separate the tone board, then soak the call in a bowl with mild soap and water. This will loosen the debris. After soaking, rinse the call well to make sure there is no soap residue left on the call. Use a crisp dollar bill or dental floss to clean under the reeds to remove any dirt and debris that may still be there. Insert the bill or dental floss from the front, then pull it back to the end to clean under the reeds. Let the call sit out until it dries completely.
- For wooden calls: When caring for wooden duck calls, the percentage of moisture in the wood is important. If the wood is dried out due to a lack of moisture, it can split and break. To avoid this, never leave a wooden call out in the hot sun, near a fireplace, or hanging from your rearview mirror. Try this Slayer family secret to preserve the wood: Use linseed oil to help it keep its color and prevent cracking.
