World elk calling champion launches new training for hunters
Ahead of elk season, Slayer Calls coach Cody McCarthy teaches the fundamentals of better bugling on the Call the Wild training platform. EAGLE, Idaho — Slayer Calls has launched its second calling training course on Call the Wild — this time with a world champion caller teaching the lessons on elk calling. "The elk calling courses are extremely detailed and cater to all experience levels, from beginner all the way to master class," said Cody McCarthy, an RMEF world elk calling champion, longtime hunter and the instructor for the Call the Wild Elk Series. Call the Wild puts expert guidance on calling at hunters' fingertips — even offline, so hunters can practice while scouting terrain before the season begins. Each course comes with bite-size video lessons, demonstrations of each call or bugle, and exercises for calling practice. McCarthy's training program is designed for hunting — not competition calling — so archery and rifle hunters can slay bulls with more realistic sounds and a better grasp on elk communication.
